Tonight we all tested out
2 new maps based out of the Tombs of Drascir zone. The first map
we played was a 1v1 & 1v1. Basically two identical maps
joined together in the middle by another. Two teams faught, and
the winner of that match faught the winner of the other 1v1. All
of this occuring at the same time. The LotD group first faced
RAF, who were running a ranger heavy build that focused on ranged
snares and silences. Our warriors were able to use "charge" out
of the gate and engage RAF's healers quickly, dropping them rather
easily. After that the RAF team had no support healing, so it was
just a matter of time before they fell. LotD moved on to face the
winner of the second fight, only to encounter a bug, so everyone left
the map and returned to tombs.
The second map we played was a
newly modeled map heavily sprinkled with oblisks, with the objective of
killing the enemies priest/guildlord. We faced another good crew
on this map, who were elementalist/mesmer heavy. It was a very
even match with the elementalist really hurting LotD's warriors with
lightning based skills. The LotD won the first "round" of combat
with 5 remaining. The 2 minute mark rolled around and everyone on
both sides respawned. As LotD was heading for the enemy priest,
the game crashed on us, so who knows how the outcome would have been,
it was a very intense match.
LotD had alot of success with this build. With the problems
we were having with amity in past all-calls, the warrior/monks has the ability
to remove it themselves. Furthermore the addition of an elementalist/mesmer
basically gave us a walking time-bomb that can explode on command. The
elementalist can usually kill 1-2 people easily with a mana-dump of spells. GW
is gearing up for the open-beta events involving pre-orders, and LotD is
anxious to get some new blood into GW.
